Gganbu Korean Restaurant

We were looking for a Korean restaurant and this was one we hadn't been to before. We didn't make a reservation but were lucky to get a table (I'd recommend making one). There are a lot of options on the menu and the serving sizes are very generous and definitely worth the price. The food was tasty and the atmosphere relaxing. I am planning on going back so I can try some more of their options.

Gganbu: Cozy, Quirky, and Authentic (But Be Patient) Gganbu offers a cozy and quirky dining experience, with unique decor, especially in the restroom. The staff were incredibly friendly and happy, making for a welcoming atmosphere. While the food took a bit longer than expected to arrive, the portion sizes were generous. The flavors were authentic and delicious, providing a true taste of Korean cuisine. The price point may seem a bit high, but considering the location and the quality of the food, I believe it's justifiable. Vegetarian Options: As a vegetarian, I appreciated that the staff were knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and were happy to adapt dishes to suit my needs. Gganbu is a worthwhile destination for those seeking an authentic Korean dining experience. While the wait times can be a bit longer, the delicious food, friendly service, and unique ambiance make it a memorable experience. l'd recommend: Making a reservation in advance, especially during peak hours. Inquiring about any vegetarian or dietary restrictions when making your reservation.

Love the food, had one of the best boiled pork belly with spicy japchae in Auckland. The shared dishes was amazing, especially with some beer or rice. It is more on the pricier side though. Will go back again. Good for a big party setting also. Make sure to book ahead tho, can get very busy.

TO ALL KOREAN CUISINE LOVERS!!! and those wanting to expand their sense of taste. THIS is a place you should try or add to that bucket list especially for all the foodies out there. Amazing service, staff and especially the food. I was not at all disappointed and left with a huge smile on my face. And to all the islanders who come across this post, we all know PORTION is everything and I'm telling you now, no joke, this place is not stingy and worth the price. Also the waiter that served us said we we're the first islanders to come into their restaurant. 1000% recommend. Pls go try and see for yourself. Very warm and welcoming. Defs one of my favs. Kinda fulfilled my kdrama fantasy, the parts where they eat lolss cause i love food. Don't worry about not being able to finish your food, they have tale away containers which is a plus as well. P.S if your going their for a celebration, let them know beforehand. Boss man was sad to here after we are and were ready to pay the pill that we were actually there to celebrate my bday, they would have prepared a surprise. But i told them not to worry, the gift was the restaurant itself and the vibes. They still gave us free milk drinks and gummy bears which was very kind and thoughtful. Thanl you for having us, we will come again.

I’m very impressed with this restaurant. It’s my first time here, and it has truly made a great impression. The food prices are worth every penny. My favorite chicken dishes are the cereal crispy chicken and spicy fish roe soup. The food here has an authentic Korean taste. I highly recommend everyone to come and try. For those who love grill pork belly barbecue, because this place offers three different varieties. ( Spicy , sweet soy & original )
